SURFERS RESCUE 24/7 TRAUMA KIT

This specialised kit has been designed in collaboration with Surfing NSW & TacMed for Boardriders and Beachgoers to rapidly deploy in the event of an Immediate, life-threatening trauma in an aquatic environment. The kit is small, lightweight, clearly labelled and designed to be deployed in the critical first few minutes after a major incident including:

 • Shark Attack

 • Watercraft Trauma

• Propeller & Surfboard Fin Strike

 • Drowning / near drowning

In addition to the Immediate Trauma / Bleeding Control equipment there are also multiple hypothermia blankets and equipment for fracture management, basic first aid (minor wounds) and a compact, vacuum sealed soft litter called the TacMed QuikLitter Lite which folds out and allows a PT to be carried off the beach to awaiting medical services.

OLAES 4” MODULAR TRAUMA BANDAGE: Applied directly to wound after tourniquet or for mild to moderate bleeding control

QUIKCLOT HAEAMOSTATIC GAUZE LE: Wound packing gauze / Kaolin promotes clotting (factor 12 of the coag cascade)

TRAUMA SHEARS: To remove wetsuit or clothing to access wounds.

SHARPIE + CASUALTY CARDS: Permanent marker + Patient Record

 GLOVES: PPE / Infection control

 15CM ROLLER BANDAGE: Stabilising Fracture or wounded limb
